Chapter: 1326
Why couldn't she pull an all-nighter, just for once?
Checking her phone, she realized it was already half past eight.
She had slept longer than intended.
Feeling awkward lingering in bed, she set aside her phone, freshened up, then trotted downstairs for breakfast.
As Marcia served the breakfast, she relayed Bennett's parting message.
"Mrs. Dreskin, Mr. Dreskin shall return by half past five this afternoon. He'll be accompanying you to the party after he's dinner with you."
Claudia nodded. "Got it, thanks."
After breakfast, Claudia strolled the yard. The autumn's decay had claimed most of the flowers and plants, leaving the landscape devoid of its former vibrant allure.

Putting down the cup, she buried her face in her hands.
A few months back, she'd gone golfing with Bennett, Breck, and the others. They had exchanged connections on Facebook.
Under Bennett's post were three similar comments. “Enough with the public display of affection on Facebook; you've already shared it in the group chat!"
Claudia's ears burned red at their comments.
Had Bennett shared those roses photos in their chat group as well?
He didn't seem like that kind of person.
It seemed that she had underestimated her husband.
Contrary to her assumption, Bennett wasn't just professing their love in the chat group but also at work.
Jackson, Bennett's long-time secretary, thought he had seen it all.
But when Bennett handed him a bunch of roses and asked him to find a vase to put them into it and then place the vase on his desk, Jackson felt that he had never seen such a scene before.
After being stunned for a second, Jackson came to his senses and quickly took the roses. "Mr. Dreskin, the roses..."
