Chapter: 254
Bennett turned and trotted into the room lazily. The master bedroom lived up to its name, but barely. It was large and luxuriously. However, it was emptier than most.

There was a small parlor in the room that had a black leather sofa.

As soon as Claudia walked in, she spotted a bottle of red wine and an unfinished glass on the table.

Her eyes reverted to Bennett. This time, they fell on his thin Lips. She noticed that they Looked a little redder than usual, probably due to the wine. The tinge made him more attractive.

“Would you Like some?"

Bennett plopped down on the sofa and pointed at the wine bottle on the table.

His question transported her to Last night. She had gotten drunk and stepped out of line with Bennett. Having barely recovered from the embarrassment, she blushed to the roots of her hair and shook her head.

“No, thanks."

She knew for sure that if she got drunk, she would make an awful fool of herself, again.

Bennett didn't push it, which Claudia appreciated. He just picked up the glass and took a sip of the wine slowly.

He made such a simple action seem Like a huge deal.

He moved with so much grace that made him seven times more attractive. It was as if he was on a TV commercial.

Damn! This man was so hot that Claudia was often caught off-guard. "You said you were Looking for me. Do you have something to say?" After pouring himself another glass, he swirled it gently and looked up at her.

Claudia showed him her phone screen. "I just received one hundred million dollars." Her purpose of being here had almost skipped her mind.

Still Looking unfazed, Bennett sipped his drink again. "Got a problem with that?"

"You did this, didn't you?"

“Weren't you expecting it? You wanted me to reimburse you, didn't you?" Claudia rubbed her left temple and sighed. Then, she spoke up seriously. "It was just a joke between me and my friend. You shouldn't take her words to heart.”

"What?"

Bennett snorted, giving a weird look. "You mean to tell me that your friend was only joking? Come on, be for real."

Embarrassed, Claudia insisted, "Believe me. She was."

Claudia felt sorry for Aurora, but she had no other choice.

Bennett looked at the message on Claudia's phone thoughtfully. A few beats later, he said, “But your friend is right. As your husband, I'm obligated to reimburse you. If I don't..."

After a pause, he continued, "She will doubt the authenticity of our marriage."

"Huh?" Claudia was stunned.
