Chapter: 31
She had been naive, but her innocence had been misconstrued by Delilah as a sign of weakness.
She was innocent, not foolish!
That evening, they were to dine with the Nixon family. After breakfast, Jace left for work, leaving Claudia with her next task.
She still had to take care of the house that belonged to her and Anthony!
The Nixon family had bought this three-story, 58@ square meter villa in River Garden, worth a staggering 18@ million dollars as a wedding gift for Claudia and Anthony.
Claudia had no intentions of exploiting the Nixon family's generosity.
She hadn't paid for the villa and now she was done with Anthony, so she felt it wasn't hers to keep.
She reached out to her lawyer that morning, asking him to assist in transferring the villa back to Anthony.
After wrapping up the paperwork, she arrived at the villa with its key in the afternoon.
It was an excellent property, one they were supposed to move into after the wedding.
Now, those plans were mere distant memories.
She unlocked the villa and ordered the movers to empty out all the furniture.
Anthony owned the villa, but the interiors were her handiwork, every piece of furniture paid for by her.
She wasn't taking anything from Anthony, and neither was he getting a single penny from her!
Wedding pictures adorned the walls. She had a mind to shred them to pieces, and she did so minutes later.
At the same moment, Anthony received the paperwork from Claudia's lawyer, fresh from a meeting.
Confused about Claudia's intentions for their shared wedding home, he was interrupted by his secretary, Kase Freeman. He wanted to say something but stopped on a second thought. “Sir...” hat?"
“Miss Marshall sent the key to your shared wedding home with a message."
The secretary hesitated.
Intrigued and angry, Anthony asked, "What did she say?"
"Miss Marshall has transferred the villa back to you. She's also had the furniture removed. She doesn't want to owe you anything.”
Stunned, Anthony tore up the transfer contract in frustration.
