Chapter: 424
He was momentarily dumbfounded and blurted out a foolish question, "Mr. Dreskin, should I keep this from Mrs. Dreskin?"
Immediately, he wished he could take the words back.
Not that Bennett would ever engage in such dubious behavior. Even if he did, as a secretary, Jackson's duty would be to turn a blind eye
Hearing this, Bennett looked straight at him with his cold eyes. "What do you think?"
Jackson was at a complete loss. How could he possibly answer such a question?
Truth be told, he still didn't know what Bennett's feelings were towards Claudia.
He had given her a necklace worth over fifty million dollars. When Bennett heard that Benico had personally sought Claudia out, he had left crucial clients behind and rushed back to help her.
These actions certainly indicated that Bennett cared deeply for Claudia.
Yet Jackson, who had worked for Bennett for years, could say with certainty that there had been no contact between Bennett and Claudia before the car accident.
Could Bennett have fallen so deeply in love without any prior interaction?
Was this the love at first sight thing?
Bennett, though, didn't fit the profile of someone prone to love at first sight.
After weighing all the possibilities, Jackson ventured, “I believe we should inform Mrs. Dreskin. What's your opinion, Mr. Dreskin?"
Bennett shot him a glance and retorted, “Since you already know the answer, why do you ask?"
With that, he headed straight into the elevator.
Jackson wiped the sweat from his brow, feeling as though he had just skirted disaster.
That had been terrifying!
Though it seemed a nearly impossible task for Claudia to find the perfect birthday gift within two hours, for the highly competent assistant Like Jackson, it was entirely manageable.
Bennett instructed Jackson to place the gift on his desk by half past five. However, Jackson had already set the wrapped present on Bennett's desk by five o'clock.
“Mr. Dreskin, I've prepared the birthday gift for Miss Santiago as you requested. It's a new designer bag."
Bennett was unconcerned with the specifics of the gift; he knew Jackson would choose appropriately.
"Got it."
Understanding that his presence was no Longer needed, Jackson smartly exited the office.
Twenty minutes afterward, Bennett departed from his office, carrying the gift, and drove to the villa.
