Claudia hadn't anticipated Bennett's early return. While she was only halfway done with her makeup, a sudden knock on the door caused her hand to tremble, and she mistakenly affixed the false eyelashes.

She had no choice but to discard the botched false eyelashes, stand up, and open the door.

As expected, Bennett was standing at the entrance. He extended the paper bag to her, stating, "This is a gift for Zaria!"

Impressed, Claudia accepted the bag and exclaimed, "Wow! Mr. Dreskin, you are awesome!”

“It was arranged by Jackson!"

Claudia, momentarily taken aback, quickly responded, "Oh, Mr. Dreskin, it's impressive to have such an efficient secretary!"

Bennett couldn't help but take pleasure in her praise. "Carry on with your preparations. Let me know when you're ready.”

“Of course, I'll be ready soon.”

Foregoing the false eyelashes, Claudia decided to simply finish her makeup and apply Lipstick.

She nodded and started to head back to her room, but Bennett halted her with a, "Wait."

“What's the matter?"

Had there been a mix-up with the gift?

“You have something in your eye."

Even before Claudia could react, she felt his fingers on her eyelid. In the blink of an eye, her false eyelashes were torn off.

Claudia was left utterly speechless.

It was so embarrassing!

Bennett's expression changed as he seemed to grasp what he had just done. "This is... fake eyelashes?"

His face showed a hint of surprise as he frowned.

Claudia, blushing with embarrassment, quickly plucked the fake eyelashes from his fingers. "No, it's just something unimportant! I need to go change my clothes! Please wait for me for five minutes, no, make it ten!" Claudia said, all in one hurried breath, before spinning around and shutting the door behind her.

She looked down at the fake eyelashes on her fingertips, her cheeks turning an even deeper shade of red.

Putting on fake eyelashes was now out of the question! After such an awkward incident, Claudia's mood for dressing up waned.

It wasn't a grand occasion, just a simple party. Light makeup should suffice.

Claudia quickly touched up her make-up and donned the dress she had previously selected, along with a pair of pearl earrings. After giving herself a final look-over, she headed out with the gift Bennett had arranged.

Upon reaching downstairs, she found Bennett on the phone, so she stood aside and waited for him.
