Chapter: 545
"Okay." Claudia accepted the invitation card graciously.

“Congratulations, Miss Murray."

She thought to herself that Anthony was such a terrible person, but Kristy seemed to treasure him. Claudia felt that Kristy was more pitiable than her old self.

Before, Claudia didn't know the whole story and therefore believed Anthony was a decent man. But now everyone knew he was just a horrible person. Claudia wondered how Kristy could dare to go through with it.

Wasn't she afraid that Anthony might flee from the wedding again?

Aurora quickly voiced her discontent.

“If even Claudia might be too busy to attend, Mr. Dreskin surely won't have the time."

Claudia added, "My schedule for the latter part of the year is indeed quite packed. If I can't make it, Miss Murray, I hope you understand. I'll ensure a gift is sent your way.”

Kristy responded with a nod, "It doesn't matter. That's thoughtful of you, Mrs. Dreskin."

She smirked, looking rather smug. Clearly, she assumed Claudia would avoid the occasion.

Amya scoffed, “Perhaps Mrs. Dreskin is just too scared to attend, right?"

Claudia had been tolerating Amya for a while now. Responding to Amya's jab, she retorted icily, "Why would I be afraid to go? Because of Anthony?"

She paused, and then added with sarcasm, “If I recall correctly, I was the one who broke off our engagement. Wasn't it Anthony who waited outside my house all night, begging me to change my mind? Now, as he's about to get engaged, what do I have to be scared of anyway? That he might abandon his own engagement to come running to me?"

Claudia's sharp words felt like slaps, resonating on both Kristy and Amya's faces.

The smile on Kristy's face almost couldn‘t be maintained anymore.

“Miss Marshall, please excuse us. Amya can be a bit too straightforward at times."

“Being straightforward doesn't equate to being malicious."

After saying that, Claudia took the garments from the store assistant, she said, "Miss Murray, we aren't close. Let's not pretend otherwise. I wouldn't want people getting the wrong idea."

Puzzled, Kristy inquired, “What kind of wrong idea?”

“They might assume that Anthony is still chasing after me."

Kristy's face turned stormy. She clenched her teeth, watching Claudia head towards the fitting rooms. Holding Amya back from retorting, she said, "Amya, we should leave."

Amya was confused, but still followed her.

Once they left the store, Amya voiced her irritation.

“Why did you hold me back? We should really teach Claudia a Lesson!
