Chapter: 562
Upon regaining her composure, she swiftly averted her gaze and put some distance between them, stating, "I've actually experienced breakouts in the past, so I have antibodies against them. Consequently, I'm not susceptible to it."

The majority of individuals tend to only experience chickenpox once in their lifetime.

“Okay.”

After nodding, Bennett inquired, "Where's the blanket?"

The topic shifted so abruptly that Claudia found herself unable to react, asking, "What blanket?"

“Didn't you mention that you were going to cover me with a blanket?" How could she have overlooked this detail!

Claudia instinctively scanned the room for a blanket but the piano room had none.

Oh no! Her lie was about to unravel!

As anticipated, falsehoods were hardly ideal!

Summoning her courage, she took a deep breath and met Bennett's gaze. Bracing herself, she admitted, "I didn't bring the blanket with me."

“I see."

He grinned and asked, "So, were you just observing me earlier?" Claudia was left without words by this statement.

Ahhh!

What was she supposed to say?

What other option did she have!

Facing this, Claudia struggled to find words. Ultimately, she shrugged off the concern and asserted, "Yes, I was just looking at you!"

She pressed her lips together and continued, "You're incredibly handsome. Is it really so wrong for me to steal a few glances?”

Observing Claudia before him, Bennett felt a tingling sensation all over his body. In a husky voice, he replied, "No, you can look as much as you want.”

Claudia was at a Loss for words. Speech eluded her for a moment. The two of them fell into silence. Just when Claudia sensed that the atmosphere would remain stagnant if left as it was, an abrupt knock resounded at the door, followed by Marcia's voice. "Mr. Dreskin, Mrs. Dreskin, you're welcome to join for dinner now."

“Marcia, you're truly an angel! Thank you!" Claudia murmured to herself, brimming with contentment.

Upon hearing that, Claudia felt a sense of reprieve and promptly stood up, declaring, "Mr. Dreskin, it's time for dinner!"

With that, she swung the door open and descended the stairs with Marcia.

Her pace was so swift that she failed to notice the surging emotions in the man's eyes as she left.

Bennett raised his head and shielded his eyes with his hand. He remained seated, only getting up and making his way downstairs once the intensity of his emotions had waned.
