Chapter: 563
When, oh when, would that clueless woman understand his feelings? He could hardly restrain himself any longer. Coming to the realization that she had indeed misunderstood Bennett, the following day, Claudia paid close attention as Marcia taught her how to make soup, dedicating herself to cooking Lunch with utmost care.

She practically incorporated all her life's knowledge and skills into crafting this meal. Once finished, she happily set off with the lunchbox, aiming to play the role of the "dutiful" wife.

Claudia's intentions were noble but reality proved slightly harsher

Receiving her with courtesy, the receptionist put her in a good mood as she headed towards Bennett's office.

However, upon stepping out of the elevator and spotting Jackson's assistant, Claudia learnt from him that Bennett had to attend a Lunch appointment today.

This news left her utterly speechless.

Damn it.

Upon noticing the Lunchbox in her hand, Jackson's assistant halted Claudia and suggested, "Mrs. Dreskin, now that you're here, why not wait for Mr. Dreskin to return before leaving? He's expected back around one o'clock. Just another hour of waiting!"

How could Claudia possibly endure the embarrassment and wait for Bennett?

While she couldn't shift blame onto Bennett, her disappointment was undeniable. After all, she had invested considerable time and effort into preparing this Lunch.

With this realization, another wave of sadness and embarrassment washed over her. Her foremost thought was to exit as quickly as possible.

Yet, Jackson's assistant wasn't inclined to let her depart. After some persuasion, he eventually guided her into Bennett's office. Jackson's assistant proved quite astute, for he arranged tea and desserts for Claudia, and then discreetly exited, locking the door from the outside!

Five minutes of sitting there prompted Claudia to decide that she should Leave promptly.

However, when she approached the door with the Lunchbox in hand, she discovered that Bennett's office door was Locked from the outside!

Had something gone awry with Bennett's staff?

What was the reason behind him locking the door and confining her in the room?

Claudia found herself with no other option but to retrace her steps. Having sat for a while, hunger gnawed at her, but she refrained from touching the Lunch she had prepared for Bennett. After all, wouldn't it be awkward if he found her having Lunch here?

Well, things were already quite embarrassing as they stood. She managed to eat a small piece of dessert to slightly alleviate her hunger.

Fighting off boredom and feeling trapped, Claudia resorted to her phone and shared this absurd situation with Aurora.

Yet, her good friend's response didn't offer solace; instead, she was mercilessly Laughed at.

Indeed, the dynamics of happiness and sorrow varied among individuals. Aurora couldn't possibly fathom the sheer speechlessness Claudia was experiencing at this very moment!

Deprived of any comforting words from Aurora, Claudia decided to cease communication altogether.

Activating a game on her phone, she aimed to while away the time during this vexing situation.

To her astonishment, just as she began to engage in her phone game, the office door swung open.
