They only knew that Bennett Liked someone before. They had no idea who she was, where she was, or what she Looked Like.
When Bennett and Claudia get married all of a sudden, everyone was caught off guard.
They stopped bothering Bennett about it after Breck inquired once on their behalf and he did not respond.
Claudia grabbed the bottle of mineral water from Bennett's hand and unscrewed the lid, but it was already open. She turned to the man, the sunlight making her eyes gleam brighter, and asked, "Did you open it for me?"
Bennett, meeting her gaze, smiled. "Isn't this what a husband should do?"
When Claudia heard the word "husband," she felt an itchy sensation in her ears. She was too shy to look at him, so she instead focused on Breck and the others, muttering, "How considerate!"
Then, a deep voice whispered in her ear, "Mrs. Dreskin, do you want to compete with me?"
Bennett leaned in closer and pressed his chest against her back. Suddenly, Claudia felt like her entire body was on fire.
As the wind blew, she caught a whiff of his clean, woodsy scent. Her hold on the gold club tightened.
“I'm actually not good at golf."
“That's fine. I won't give it my all."
Claudia gave him a quick look before saying, “I don't think that's a good idea."
Bennett Lowered his head and hummed in agreement. "You're right."
He then reached for her hand.
Claudia subconsciously flinched when his hand wrapped around hers, causing him to turn back at her.
With some apprehension, she asked, “Where are we going?"
“We'll talk to Breck."
"Oh, okay."
She felt a smile spread across her face as she glanced down at her hand in his.
Soon, they stopped in front of Breck and the others.
Breck spotted their joined hands and tutted. "Did you two come here to show us your affection for each other or something?"
Claudia, the shy person that she was, immediately tried to take her hand back.
Of course, she failed.
Bennett prodded Breck with the club and inquired, “Tell me about your game. What's the winning prize?"
