Chapter: 670
“Indeed, even as an adult, I'll always be your daughter!"

"You've got that right!"

Jace scrutinized Claudia from head to toe, his fatherly concerns alleviated by her well-being. Turning his attention to Bennett, he inquired, "Have you been keeping busy lately?"

It was widely known that the Segarine Group had been making significant moves recently, and as its leader, Bennett undoubtedly had his hands full.

“I can manage."

“That's good to hear.”

Jace had now met his son-in-law for the third time, yet his reserved nature made for limited conversation between them.

Nevertheless, the trio engaged in lively conversation, with Claudia deftly steering the discussion.

After a satisfying Lunch, Jace insisted that Claudia and Bennett not remain cooped up in the villa with him.

“I understand your concern for my well-being. Now that you've laid eyes on me, what's your verdict on my health? You youngsters have your own lives to lead. Go on, enjoy your weekend together."

Claudia blushed and stole a glance at Bennett. He gently held her hand and addressed Jace, saying, "We'll heed your advice and come visit you another time, dad."

“Very well. Drive safe, okay?" As Claudia and Bennett departed, Jace hummed a tune, carrying some food to the koi pond for their evening meal.

Claudia stared into the distance, Lost in thought and let out a sigh. Bennett cast a concerned look at her and inquired, “Are you worried about your dad?"

Claudia met his gaze and nodded, “I didn't get anything useful out of him."

Following lunch, Bennett concocted a pretext to answer a phone call, leaving the father and daughter alone for about ten minutes.

Claudia broached the topic of Jace's company but he assured her that everything was running smoothly.

Left with no other option, she inquired about his health. He promptly presented her with his recent medical examination report, which had been issued just last week.

Apart from a few preexisting conditions, his health appeared to be in good order.

However, Aurora had sounded concerned for a reason. If she had felt compelled to share that with Claudia, there must have been troubling news on the horizon.

The traffic Light ahead turned red. Bennett eased the car to a stop, gripping the steering wheel with one hand while clasping Claudia's hand with the other.

“Don't worry. No matter what comes our way, I'll be there for you.”

Claudia turned her head and met his calm gaze. Her heart skipped a beat. Before the green light signaled their departure, she leaned over and planted a quick kiss on his cheek.

“Thank you!"

Ah, how fortunate it was to have such a Loving husband!
