Chapter: 679
“Are you hurt?" Bennett asked anxiously. Claudia looked away from the box and shook her head. "No."
She met his gaze, only to turn her head to the side immediately, her ears reddening.
“Aurora's company is doing an underwear ad campaign, and each employee got a pair. She sent me hers.”
Claudia had to rack her brain until she came up with that excuse in order to protect Aurora's reputation and lessen the embarrassment she was feeling.
Humming in acknowledgment, Bennett reached down to pick up the black fabric. "It's pretty.”
He said that in a very serious tone.
Claudia's face flushed even more. Why in the world would he say that? “I think it'll Look more beautiful on you."
"Why are you always thinking about those kinds of things?" Claudia asked, giving him an accusatory Look.
Bennett leaned back, the smile on his face barely visible, as he inquired, "What kind of things exactly?"
Feeling extremely embarrassed and irritated, Claudia clenched her right hand into a fist and hit him on the chest. "Stop pretending you don't know!"
Bennett caught her hand and gripped it before she could hit him again. "I'm not pretending. I really don't know what you're talking about. Can you enlighten me, Mrs. Dreskin?"
“You're so annoying
He regarded her blushing face and chuckled.
“You still like me, though. You said so yesterday.”
Claudia glared at him.
Honestly, the man was so insatiable. She gave him an inch, and he would take a mile.
Anyway, now that he had seen the Lingerie, there was no point in hiding it.
Snorting, she got up from his lap, picked up the box, stuffed its contents back inside, and closed it. Before storming upstairs, she declared, "Let me make one thing clear. I'm not going to wear this!"
Bennett watched her rush, his eyes gleaming with fondness. Claudia stopped in the middle of climbing the stairs when she remembered something. She turned around and asked, “Hey, who are we going to have dinner with tonight?"
She wanted to know if she needed to dress accordingly.
“No one. It'll be just us."
“Okay. I'll go and get changed now."
Even though they were not going to meet up with anyone, Claudia still decided to doll up.
She did not do full-face makeup, though. Instead, she opted for a natural look. It was difficult to tell that she had applied any makeup at all unless one looked very closely.
