Chapter: 715
Claudia grimaced.
It seemed that their chance encounter this time was purely coincidental, which was worse.
Aurora gave Claudia a questioning look, asking silently who Kayla was When her friend rolled her eyes, she immediately understood.
Kayla was definitely up to no good.
Since Kayla approached her, it would be rude to ignore her, so Claudia nodded at her in greeting and said, “Hello, Miss Bryant."
With a hint of a smirk on her face, Kayla asked, "Do you remember what I told you before? Next month, Khawst will host a motorboat race. Keep an eye on Townsend's schedule, Miss Marshall. If I'm not mistaken, he'll go there to see that person."
After saying that, she ran a hand through her long hair and smoothed it back. Then, she cast a cryptic glance toward Claudia before walking away. For a moment, Claudia stayed rooted in her spot.
Aurora flipped Kayla the bird as the latter turned around. She then snapped her attention to Claudia and hissed, “Swear to God! She definitely did that on purpose!
Of course, Claudia knew that Kayla intentionally addressed Bennett Like that. It could not have been a simple slip of the tongue. Bennett had already asked Kayla not to call him that, but she still did, and she even addressed Claudia as "Miss Marshall" as if she was still single. It was probably because she wanted to annoy Claudia.
This time however, Claudia could not disregard Kayla's words regarding Bennett's first love. "She said there'd be a motorboat race at Khawst next month.."
Aurora scowled. "Do you seriously believe her? She's just messing with you. You're going to get into a fight with Bennett if you believe what she says."
Claudia knew her friend was right, but she still could not help but be bothered by Kayla's words.
Aurora sighed before changing the topic.
“Let's just go watch a movie, okay? A rom-com movie came out yesterday. I heard it's really good."
"Alright."
Bennett was away on a business trip and would not be returning home that night.
After Aurora bought the movie tickets online, they took a taxi to the cinema.
The movie was hilarious, but it also contained a somber undercurrent of realism.
The first half of the movie was met with Laughter by the two women, while the second part was met with tears.
Claudia's makeup had disappeared by the time she emerged from the theater, and her eyes were red and puffy.
“It's late, Cece. We should go home now.”
It was already ten o'clock in the evening, and Aurora was aware that Claudia ought to have been asleep by now.
Claudia sniffed and asked, "Shall we go, then?"
"Yeah, let's go."
