Claudia was taken aback for a moment. When she realized what he was doing, she frantically waved her hand and exclaimed, "I... I can take them off myself!"

How could she let Bennett take off her sandals for her?

“Raise your right foot, Mrs. Dreskin."

Bennett did not budge, though. He grabbed her right foot with his left hand while the other reached for her sandal’s clasp.

Claudia had to hold on to his shoulder to keep her balance as she raised her right foot.

“Now, raise your left foot."

She did as she was told.

Once Bennett had successfully taken her sandals off, Claudia bent down and reached for them.

However, Bennett beat her to it. His right hand was carrying her sandals, while his Left hand reclaimed hers.

Claudia blushed as she stared at the footwear in his grasp.

“I can carry them myself."

Bennett used his hands to sign ten billion dollars' worth of contracts, but now, he was using them to carry her sandals. Claudia felt like it didn't feel right at all.

The man gave her a playful smile.

“What? Am I not qualified enough to carry your sandals?"

Claudia rolled her eyes to hide her embarrassment. "That's not what I mean."

Well, if he really wanted to carry her shoes, then she would not refuse.

And so Claudia did not ask Bennett to give them back to her.

She felt a little self-conscious at first, but her embarrassment ‘lessened when another couple walked past them. The woman led the way, while the man trailed after her. He was also carrying a pair of women's footwear.

Claudia stared at the pair before turning to Bennett. She blinked, and then let out a sigh of relief.

It seemed that this kind of thing was really normal for couples.

With a small grin on his face, Bennett asked, "Did you see that?" Claudia nodded.

She took a few steps onto the water, her heart full of happiness.

Bennett grabbed her arm and cautioned, “Don't go too far. The water level is rising."

Claudia hummed in acknowledgment and moved slightly away from the water.
