Chapter: 764
Feeling a rush of relief and confusion, Claudia replied with a "thank you" meme and downloaded the video. But she couldn't bring herself to watch it right away.
Noticing her peculiar behavior, Aurora waved a hand in front of Claudia's face and asked, "Hey, you alright?"
Aurora was a devoted fan of Mathews, and the last thing Claudia wanted was to spill the beans about what was going on.
Claudia promptly locked her phone and dismissed the query.
“Oh, I was just spacing out for a moment!"
“What were you thinking so hard about?"
Aurora's eyebrows rose, her expression tinged with curiosity.
“Are you pining over Mr. Dreskin?"
Feeling a bit cornered, Claudia shook her head. "No, not at all."
“Come on, you know what they say; absence makes the heart grow fonder! If Mr. Dreskin wasn't out on business, I'd never have gotten the chance to dine with you.”
Claudia took Aurora's words as a welcome diversion. At the very least, she wouldn't be thinking about Mathews. She vowed internally to avoid any further involvement with him.
“So, how about some shopping after this? I heard the latest fall collections from many designer brands are being revealed this week. We should totally check them out at the mall!"
Given that Bennett was away on business, Claudia wasn't keen on spending the evening alone in their sprawling villa.
"Sounds Like a plan. Let's go."
After Lunch, Claudia and Aurora headed straight for the mall, Claudia at the wheel of her Maserati-a gift from Jace.
Today marked the first time she had taken the car out. Everyone else was driving at a fast pace, so she exercised caution to avoid any scratches.
Just as Claudia was preparing to park in a spot she'd set her eyes on, a Ferrari zipped in, stealing it right from under her nose.
Infuriated, Aurora jumped out of the car and began chastising the other party.
“Hey, what the hell! We saw this spot first!"
A glamorous young woman emerged from the driver's seat of the Ferrari, taking off her sunglasses.
She looked at Aurora disdainfully. "So what if you saw it first? Does that mean it's yours already?"
From the passenger seat of the Ferrari, another woman got out. While sending a text message, she remarked with disgust, “Let's just go. Don't waste your time on these people."
Claudia unbuckled her seat belt and stepped out. "I did see this spot first."
The female driver scoffed, "So? Is your name written on it or something?"
