Chapter: 767
“Cece?”
Claudia put on a sheepish smile, feeling quite awkward. "I gave them Bennett's number."
As memory would serve her, every quarter, she would have a few items from this shop in her closet.
The manager nodded and said, “One moment, please."
Felicity and her friend Maleah Navarro, across the shop, tuned into Claudia and Aurora's exchange. As Felicity returned to her phone, a flicker of annoyance crossed her face.
Maleah set aside the dress she'd been considering and moved closer to Felicity. "Could those two also be VWIPs?"
Felicity shrugged.
“Who knows? They might have borrowed someone else's membership card."
She was confident in her retort. Obtaining a high-level VIP card at this shop was no small feat. One would need to spend a minimum of one million per month, accumulating an annual expenditure of no less than twenty million.
Though spending a hundred thousand a month might be a drop in the bucket for some, doling out over a million monthly at a single store— totaling an annual expenses of at Least twenty million-was a different story altogether.
Felicity held her VWIP status thanks to her mother's affinity for the brand. Each season's latest fashions found their way to their home well ahead of schedule, courtesy of a VVIP membership linked to her phone number.
Without her mom's influence, she doubted she'd make the VVIP cut on her own.
Eyeing Claudia and Aurora, she took stock of their modest attire. They carried ordinary bags, and while Claudia did pull up in a Maserati, Felicity believed that Claudia was just from another “slightly” wealthy family.
It would be impossible for someone like her to spend twenty million annually in one shop.
Upon hearing Claudia's statement, Aurora let out a sigh of relief.
She knew how difficult it was to obtain a high-level VIP status at this boutique. Though Claudia's paycheck was robust and her father was generous, it was improbable she'd meet the shop's stringent spending requirements.
However, Bennett was different kind of man. That kind of money was peanuts to him.
Just as she began to relax, the manager reappeared.
“I'm sorry, but we didn't find any membership records under that number. So..."
The manager trailed off, but the message she meant to portray was loud and clear to all.
The moment the manager spoke, Maleah couldn*t hold back her laughter. Picking through a rack of clothes, she exclaimed, “Oh, the things people do trying to impress others. Do they even understand what it takes to be a VVIP here? Forget the extra V; you need to spend at least three million a year to even qualify for a basic VIP client.”
She snickered. "So they think rolling up in a Maserati makes them high society?”
It was clear that she was talking about Claudia and Aurora.
Claudia was surprised Bennett had no membership record at this shop. It was her first attempt at showing off, but it had backfired.
