Chapter: 769
Claudia had just replied to Bennett's message when Aurora's remark nearly had her bursting into Laughter.
A slight blush painted her cheeks as she acknowledged the evident annoyance on Felicity's and Maleah's faces, aggravated further by Aurora's words. It dawned on her that dragging Bennett into this petty situation was unnecessary.
“Yes, it's indeed a little stinky here," Claudia remarked seriously, leaving the shop manager at a Loss for how to persuade them.
Once they stepped out of the store, Claudia offered Aurora a thumbs up, to which she proudly replied, “Awesome!”
Aurora let out a confident snort, declaring, “Absolutely!"
Claudia quickly joined in praising her, when suddenly her phone illuminated with a new message. It was from Bennett, detailing, "The freshest batch of dresses have just dropped, and three have been reserved to be delivered to our place. Feel free to try them on and request any necessary alterations directly.”
Bennett's message included three photos of the dresses he mentioned.
Embarrassed, Claudia lifted her gaze and noticed Aurora looking at her with a curious glance.
With a flurry of words, she tried to explain, "I'm not one to prioritize romance over friendship. I intended to ask if Bennett held a membership at this store..."
Aurora hadn't planned on peeking initially. She had only meant to turn to look at her friend, yet unexpectedly, the Internet was running so smoothly that all the photos loaded in an instant. She reexamined them before reassuring Claudia, “It's fine. It isn't the first time I've witnessed your open displays of affection.”
Claudia blushed and said, "How about we check out the bags next?"
Considering Felicity and her friend were still within the store's vicinity, Claudia wished to avoid getting caught up in any more of their sarcastic comments.
Aurora stopped teasing her, “Yes, let's go. I was sent a picture of a bag by a friend recently and I have been smitten with it. Uh... Wait!
Cece, is it possible that Mr. Dreskin arranged for the very dress they're looking at for you?"
In the midst of this, Aurora gave Claudia a sudden, affectionate tap on the arm.
Caught off guard by the question, Claudia looked down at her phone again.
Claudia and Aurora had just stepped outside the boutique, and they were able to fully observe the happenings inside through the floor-to-ceiling glass window.
Prompted by Aurora, Claudia instinctively checked her phone again and then looked inside the store.
At that moment, Felicity and her friend were holding the dress from the picture Bennett had recently shared with her.
However, since Bennett was the one who ordered the dress, it clearly wasn't available for purchase.
Clearly, the sales assistant was in the midst of a discussion with Felicity and her friend regarding this issue.
It was apparent that Felicity and her companion were upset, with their conversation seemingly going downhill.
Observing this, Claudia's eyebrows shot up. Recalling the two women's rude actions from earlier, she felt a surge of vengeful motivation, even without Aurora nudging her.
“What a coincidence! I think I'll give the dress a try right now." Aurora endorsed Claudia's decision with a thumbs-up before they both re-entered the store.
