Chapter: 1776
He then opened Joe's door.
Camila smiled.
Though he hadn't said it outright, he probably was happy to have someone like Annis as a sister, right?
The next day, arriving at the institute, Camila found her office cleaned up. The documents were categorized and neatly arranged on her desk, making it easy to review them.
Hyman, looking exhausted with dark circles under his eyes, stood before her.
"Are you satisfied?"
Camila glanced at Hyman and acknowledged, “Good job.”
Hyman curled his lips and said, “I stayed up all night."
After changing into her work attire, Camila pulled out a paper from her bag and handed it to Hyman. “Announce a meeting at three o'clock this afternoon, and then pick up these items from the list. Make sure it's done before three, and keep it discreet. Bring them back to the institute."
Hyman, frowning, questioned, "Do you really expect me to buy everything on this list? Why should I sneak around like this? I'm not some sort of thief."
Camila sat down, opened a book, and replied, "I know you're not a thief. I'm not asking you to steal. I've already transferred the funds to you."
“I may be your assistant, but I'm not a lackey. I help you in business, not personal errands. You can't treat me like a servant."
"You're my assistant, so you have to assist me. These items are necessary for me. You're just helping me purchase them. Is there an issue with that?" Camila questioned.
It sounded reasonable.
However, something didn't feel quite right.
Camila asked, "Can you handle it now? If you're unable to, it just shows you're not up to the task of assisting me."
"You're asking for these by three in the afternoon. It's still morning. I've got plenty of time. What's stopping me from getting them? Just wait and see."
With that, Hyman left, muttering under his breath, “I might skip a meal, but I'll get this done right."
Camila couldn't help but smile, finding his attitude amusing.
Before long, it was three in the afternoon.
