Chapter: 2043
Due to Forrest's presence, Camila didn't directly share her plan for Laura to come and identify the cause of death of the deceased.
Isaac seemed to sense her hesitation but didn't press the matter further, opting instead to offer his assistance if needed.
"Mila, if you need any help, just let me know," Forrest chimed in, his casual demeanor contrasting with Isaac's evident disapproval.
Isaac couldn't conceal his irritation, rolling his eyes at Forrest's use of Camila's nickname.
Forrest, however, seemed unfazed, aware that Isaac disliked the familiarity. He knew that Isaac would mind it if he called her Mila.
The more unhappy he was, the more he wanted to call her in this way.
“Mila, I'm thirsty. Can you get me a glass of water?" Forrest requested, eliciting a tense response from Isaac, who firmly grasped Camila's wrist, preventing her from complying.
"If you want to drink it, go get it yourself," Isaac retorted, his tone bordering on hostility.
Caught off guard by Isaac's abruptness, Forrest protested, "I don't know where the water is."
Isaac's response was unwavering. “If you don't know, then leave and fetch it from your own home."
Forrest was left speechless, his frustration unmistakable.
Observing the exchange between Isaac and Forrest, Camila couldn't help but feel puzzled by their sudden discord.
What were they doing?
“Did you two fight?" she inquired.
Forrest offered a strained smile. "Your man is narrow-minded," he remarked.
Camila was puzzled. "Is he narrow-minded?"
She turned to Isaac and asked, "What's wrong with you?"
Forrest explained, "He doesn't like it when I call you Mila. We've known each other for so long, and I've always called you that. But he's so narrow-minded that he won't let me. When you're free, you should talk to him carefully."
They were acting so immature.
Camila was left speechless.
