Understanding the situation, Morrison continued, “These used to be your favorites, right? He had them sent here to provoke me up. I don't know what you used to enjoy, but what's the point? Tastes change, just like we do. What mattered then doesn't now."
Laura gazed at him.
"If you've moved on, deal with it calmly," Morrison said, squeezing her hand. "I don't want him getting to you. Can you see where I'm coming from?"
For a while, Laura remained silent.
Morrison was right.
