Chapter: 2305
“They've just left, haven't they?" Isaac pressed.
Jacob paused, giving Isaac a long look before responding, "Don't ask too many questions. Knowing too much isn't beneficial for you."
“I don't mean that. I'm just pointing out that they could be close by," Isaac explained.
At Isaac's words, Jacob became vigilant. "Don't joke with me."
Isaac retorted calmly, "Why would I joke about that?"
From Jacob's wariness around those people, Isaac could tell they weren't good people.
Jacob wouldn't be too tight-lipped and cautious if they were.
His intention for voicing his observation wasn't to play around but to alarm Isaac about a possible danger, knowing full well that they would be in greater danger if they had been found out.
Jacob halted in his steps, listening intently to the noise around, but heard nothing strange.
Except for the sound of brushing wind, rustling leaves, and chirping birds, the forest sounded ordinary and peaceful to his ears.
However, he couldn't ignore Isaac's observation as a blind person like him usually had sharper hearing.
In the end, Jacob trusted Isaac's words.
"Should we stop for a while?" Jacob asked.
He decided to move Isaac as soon as those people left, thinking it was the safest time to do so.
Knowing that those people might still be around, Jacob didn't dare to move casually.
“I'm okay with it," Isaac said.
However, the spot where they stopped was a vast land area covered with weeds.
There wasn't a place to sit.
Looking ahead, Jacob said, "There's a river up front about twenty meters away. Let's make a stopover there."
Isaac nodded in response.
