Chapter: 2423
The past was a landscape she preferred not to revisit.
As she caressed Morrison's determined face, she affirmed, “You are all I want in my future."
“Don't you even want Honey?" he asked with a slight jest.
Pausing, Laura queried, “Did he come here for the baby?"
“He just wants to see her," Morrison reassured her.
Laura embraced him tightly and shared, “Initially, I saw the baby as an accident, something I hadn't planned for. But as she grew within me, my feelings evolved... That's the bond of motherhood. I can't imagine being apart from her now."
Morrison nodded in understanding. “Let's not keep him waiting. Bring the child down," he suggested gently.
Acknowledging his words, Laura turned and went to get the baby.
Honey had fallen asleep, her tiny face flushed a soft red.
She didn't resemble anyone yet, perhaps because she was still so little.
Only when she grew older might she begin to show features of her parents.
Laura handed the baby over to Morrison, who took her gently.
“You really don't want to come down?" he asked for confirmation.
Laura glared at him. "If you keep asking, I might just go with him."
Morrison cracked a smile. “Don't be mad. I'll apologize when I get back."
With a gentle push, Laura ushered him out and closed the door behind him.
Morrison descended the stairs, holding his baby.
Downstairs, Forrest paced back and forth, visibly uneasy - probably nervous about seeing his child for the first time.
Morrison called out to him. As Forrest turned and saw his daughter in Morrison's arms, his entire body tensed, his breathing halted for a moment, and his throat moved as he struggled with his emotions.
Approaching, Morrison gently placed the baby in Forrest's arms. “You can visit her often in the future," he stated firmly.
