Chapter: 2558
With Glenda and Forrest gone, she sat outside, Bowen cradled in her arms.
After what felt like an eternity, Isaac finally emerged, free from his social obligations.
He approached them, his voice laced with concern. "Where is everyone?"
"They all left," Camila replied. "You're the only one here."
Isaac scooped up Bowen, who reached out eagerly.
Camila turned and said, "You drive."
Isaac nodded in agreement. "Okay."
The remaining details of the wedding were orchestrated by Nelson.
Alick and Annis returned to the hotel, where their wedding room was beautifully decorated.
Though well-acquainted, Annis couldn't help but feel a touch of shyness now that they were officially married.
Her mind drifted back to the mysterious gift, and with a surge of excitement, she set out to find it.
The room was decorated in a festive array, draped with ribbons, and filled with the scent of fresh flowers, all meticulously arranged for the newlywed couple. Alick watched Annis with a mixture of amusement and confusion as she rummaged through boxes and overturned cupboards, her eyes alight with curiosity.
He frowned slightly, his voice tinged with bemusement. “What are you doing?"
Annis, seemingly oblivious to the fact that she was the bride today, didn't bother to look back.
She simply flashed a radiant smile in his direction. "Camila mentioned she left a wedding gift for me in the bridal chamber. I want to see what she prepared."
Alick nodded, though he felt a twinge of neglect. "Go ahead. I'm going to take a shower."
Annis waved him off without a second thought, her focus entirely on her search. "Go on," she said casually.
For a moment, Alick stood there, feeling a bit speechless.
Was a gift really more important than him?
He couldn't help but wonder why she didn't seem to care about him right now.
