Chapter: 2580
Alick said, "You don't have to think about it too much. Just focus on driving."
Annis pouted. “Once you recover, I'll be a passenger princess and you'll drive all the time."
Alick smiled. "Sure."
The car drove steadily.
It rolled to a stop at the destination. Alick and Annis got out of the car and walked inside.
Annis smelled the sumptuous scent of roasting meat before she saw them.
"Why does it smell like barbecue?" she asked.
Alick had already guessed the answer the moment he smelled the air.
But Annis didn't seem to understand what was going on and was still asking questions.
She saw a figure some distance away and instinctively sped up towards it. Just then, she remembered that Alick's legs hadn't fully recovered yet. The thought made her stop in her tracks and turn around, walking over to him and holding his arm.
Alick patted her fondly and said, "I'm fine. I can still walk on my own. You don't have to hold on to me like this. It's not like I'm gonna fall down. People who don't know me would assume that I'm too old if you keep this up."
Annis answered, "No, you're not old, but you might be disabled.”
Alick asked, "If I become disabled, will you leave me?"
"Maybe," Annis joked.
Alick feigned disappointment. "Well, what did I expect? You women are all capricious."
Annis patted his injured leg on purpose. “If you already know, then get better quickly so I won't leave.”
Then, she let go of Alick and ran away.
"Joe."
She was delighted to see that they really were having a barbecue.
“How could you go here without me?" she complained with mock plaintiveness.
