Chapter: 1632
Aziel, seeming a bit panicked, dropped the balloon he was holding and came over, asking with uncertainty, "Why are you here?"
Regaining her composure, Sarah's anger flared. She glared at Aziel and retorted, "Why am I here? What about you? What are you doing here?"
Aziel stuttered, He remained silent for a long time. Sarah glanced at him, then at the woman, and finally said, “You're not telling the truth, right?"
“No, just hear me out." Aziel tried to explain this to Sarah. “I didn't want you to overthink things. That's why I told you I was at the office. I..."
It was clear that Sarah had no interest in his rambling, so she interrupted him. She pointed at the woman in the photograph her assistant had taken and demanded, "Just tell me who she is."
“She... She's a friend of mine. We're working on something together."
Aziel's explanation came out reluctantly as if he was hesitant to disclose the woman's identity.
Sarah, fighting back tears of frustration, said, “I'll ask you one more time. Who is she?"
Aziel continued to evade the question, unwilling to let Sarah in on the woman's identity.
"Well, aren't you something, Aziel." As she spoke, tears fell from Sarah's eyes. Without waiting for an answer, she turned to leave.
Panicked, Aziel reached out and grabbed her arm. "Please, don't be upset. I was actually planning to propose to you. She's the event organizer. It was supposed to be a surprise..."
Sarah wiped away her tears, finding it hard to trust Aziel's words.
She faced Aziel, her voice laced with anger. "Are you still lying to me? You haven't spent time with me for two weeks. There are photos of you going into the mall and the villa with her. How can you explain this?"
“I was worried about picking the wrong items, so I asked her to help me choose. After we picked everything, we went back here to set it up. I'm telling the truth," Aziel replied, his voice filled with urgency.
When Sarah seemed unconvinced, Aziel's anxiety spiked. He hurriedly added, "I've been keeping it a secret from you. I wanted to plan an unforgettable proposal, so I've been busy with that these past two weeks."
Seeing the nearly finished room, Sarah's expression softened. She asked again, this time more gently, “Really?”
“I promise you it's true!" Aziel's eyes were earnest, showing his fear of Sarah's disbelief.
Just then, the event planner approached and said, "Miss, he's telling the truth. I can show you our contract if you'd like. Plus, I'm married and have a kid."
The other two people, who were still busy with balloons, quickly nodded in agreement.
Feeling awkward, Sarah realized she had misunderstood the situation.
