Chapter: 1002
“Maria, what do we do now?" Claire asked in a low voice, the worry evident in her voice.

“What do you mean?" Maria asked flatly, seemingly unbothered. Her passive behavior made Claire even more anxious.

“I just showed you the news about what is going on. Aren't you worried?

You should so something about it."

The movie was adapted from Mia's popular novel that had numerous fans all over the world. Now that they would make it into a movie, more people started paying attention to the work.

As the lead actress, Maria flounced in front of the crew on the first day. The fans of the original novel alone were going to give her hell for it.

"I have an idea. Why don't you post a tweet, saying that you only forgot to take the script with you?" Claire suggested.

“Why should I do that? I didn't forget. I deliberately left it behind," Maria said with an indifferent shrug.

Maria never planned on taking the script to the set with her. Not today, not ever.

Besides, Sophie was urging her to act and make more money. She didn't have the time to reply to every comment on the Internet.

Claire looked at her in dismay, not knowing what else to say. She couldn't figure out what was going through Maria's head.

She was about to keep persuading Maria when she spotted Francis walking towards them with a medical mask over his face.

Trying to talk in between coughs, he said, ‘m sorry... Ahem... 1 can't speak for Long because my tonsils are inflamed. I won't be able to explain the script to you today...”

Francis coughed badly again. His assistant was right behind him with a large bag of medicine prescribed by the hospital.

“Does that mean we won't do any table-reading today, Mr. Jackson?" asked an actress who often worked with the director.

Explaining the characters in the script was a very important part before filming. If the director didn't set them straight on their roles, they wouldn't be able to start filming.

He shook his head negatively at the actress and said, "No, I... Ahem... Someone else will do it for me."

The actors all relaxed in relief.

They realized that Francis should have discussed the script with someone else in advance.

What they didn't know, was who he was going to choose to replace him. It could be the assistant director, the lead actors, or the main scriptwriter.

First, they looked at the assistant director. However, he seemed completely clueless.

Then, they looked at Maria, the female lead, who seemed still too inexperienced in the entertainment circle. The senior actors even looked down on her slightly.

As for the scriptwriter of the movie, it was Mia, who was also the author of the original novel...

She was a very elusive person, and they didn't think she would come to the set. As such, the actors knew it couldn't be her.
