Chapter: 1102
Everyone knew that Mia had a Large global fan base so it made sense to praise her if you wanted to attract more attention.
This was a test of who was the best at flattery.
Flattering Mia meant getting her fans on your side. This would have a positive impact on their own follower count.
Even if they didn't benefit with a higher follower count, at least they weren't upsetting anyone by flattering Mia.
They continued singing their praises.
Meanwhile, on stage, the band had continued playing.
Shera and Beuford racked their brains for a suitable compliment.
The camera zoomed in on their faces during the song. Everyone was listening attentively apart from Maria who seemed very absentminded Maria looked sleepy.
Vivian had figured out what to say so she signaled that she would speak next.
Vivian was well respected by the other guests so they agreed. Vivian was about to say something in reply when she noticed that her sister had dozed off!
As the score ended, Vivian suddenly asked, "Maria, what did you think of the piece Advanced Pawn?"
The Advanced Pawn was a fictional novella that Mia had written. It had been adapted to be made into a movie for which this main theme had been composed.
Maria Looked up upon hearing someone call her name, as she rubbed her eyes with a yawn.
“What? Did you just say something?"
Maria suffered from narcolepsy and she was always annoyed when her sleep was interrupted.
"Maria, how can you possibly doze off when Listening to such a stirring symphony?" Vivian teased.
Maria did not respond.
Vivian continued, “I was asking you your opinion on the music... It doesn't matter though, forget it! Most of the pieces played at this concert are Mia's works. This isn't something that happens every day! You should really cherish this opportunity."
Vivian wanted to embarrass Maria.
She wanted Mia's fans to see how disrespectful Maria was.
Vivian had previously been heavily criticized by Mia's fans because of the work she had written under the pseudonym ‘Polly’.
She wanted Maria to experience the wrath of Mia's fans as well.
“A rare opportunity?" Maria was not impressed. In a flat tone, she said, "These tunes are all freely available online. I can listen to them at any time. Why is this a rare opportunity?"
Maria yawned again before continuing, "Besides, this is a grim piece, I'm afraid."
