Chapter: 1103
Vivian was thrilled that Maria was slandering everything so much.
Is she serious? She thought to herself.
She didn't know how Maria had the audacity to say such things about Mia's work.
Didn't Maria care about staying in showbiz?
Maria was also currently starring in a movie which had been adapted from another of Mia's works, the Female Military Counsellor!
It didn't make sense for Maria to be so critical about Mia's other works.
It was inappropriate in every sense! And Mia's fans would definitely not be happy about this!
The director sat in the corner, fuming in a mix of shock and outrage.
How dared Maria say that? He could no longer tell if she really was arrogant and conceited, or simply too ignorant for her own good.
After the release of the movie Advanced Pawn, it had gone on to win several major awards at a reputable film festival!
That included the Best Film Soundtrack Award.
It was therefore absurd that someone like Maria had the nerve to Look down on the film's musical score.
Of course, when they heard Maria's comment, Vivian and the three regular guests of the show all displayed exaggerated expressions of horror and surprise.
Vivian even looked concerned as she covered her mouth and said, “Maria... It's really out of line for you to say such a thing! I, for one, am in love with the song. Maybe you'd like to give it another listen, more carefully this time?"
Maria glanced at the look on Vivian's face and immediately decided to ignore the other woman.
But Shera chose that moment to join the conversation, her voice cold and harsh.
“People of true talent appreciate the gifts of others, not point out their nonexistent flaws. I don't get why you're hating on the works of the great author, Mia, when everything is literally perfect. I just don't understand the way you think."
Over the years, Mia had become something of a household name in the entertainment circle.
And no matter how troublesome or eccentric some stars behaved, none of them had the audacity to scorn Mia's work, at least not in public.
As it was, the show's guests thought that Maria was trying to draw attention to herself by stirring up an issue. Why else would she openly express her disdain for an acclaimed top-notch movie and its theme song?
Maria said anything and let out another yawn. She was very sleepy, indeed.
Narcolepsy struck at the oddest times, and there was no way of telling when it might hit you next. Worse still, scientists had yet to discover a complete cure to the disease. Luckily, Maria's symptoms weren't that bad anymore. For the most part, she was still able to keep herself from falling asleep at the drop of a hat.
“Come on, Maria. Don't try to avoid the question. Hurry and answer it." At this point, the director was certain that he didn't like Maria at all. He felt particularly miffed that she was trying to gain some clout at the expense of the renowned Mia.
Fine, then. The forum held by the School of Mathematics and Science yesterday had brought a lot of traction to the program.
