Chapter: 1104
Now that Maria started it, the director decided to play along since he obviously didn't care what the audience would say about her.
In any case, he was sure that the production team had done nothing to offend Mia or her fans, and the regular guests themselves had a good attitude toward her.
He might as well reel in all those viewer ratings. The director prompted the cast to continue discussing the topic.
Hearing his order, Maria curled her lips and sneered. She swept a piercing gaze over the director, and then Vivian, Shera and the others.
The five of them were momentarily panicked, feeling as though Maria was seeing through their devious thoughts.
“I have no opinions again the song Advanced Pawn itself, and I'm simply talking about this version they're playing right now. I have two reasons for saying that it was not played well," Maria said nonchalantly. "First, the band's performance is less than satisfactory. Second, the song has obviously been reprogramed. They tried to gild the lily, so to speak."
Only then did they realize that Maria was not criticizing the song itself, but the rendition that the Sheffield University's School of Music had performed.
Lydia was also in the private box at that time.
When she heard Maria's words, her lips twitched, and her expression shifted ever so slightly.
Although she wasn't the conductor, she participated in every rehearsal, and had the final say in the band's final version of performance.
And sure enough, the symphony they were playing had indeed been reprogramed.
Lydia had done it herself.
It even said so on the concert's program list, with her cited as the music arranger, and Mia the composer.
What was more, her name was listed before Mia's.
“why did you say that the band isn't good? What is the problem with the reprogramed version?" Lydia asked frostily.
The director didn't mind her aggressive attitude at all. Lydia was a famous musician in Sheffield after all.
“Answer my questions!" Lydia's voice was Louder now. In the private box, each guest held a program list in their hands. Maria looked at the program List and was quick to notice that Lydia's name was written beside several of the songs. Suddenly, she understood.
Maria didn't wish to talk to Lydia so she just asked the director, “She is not a guest of this show. Must I answer her questions?"
The director was quick to show that he was on Lydia's side in this matter. With a nod, he replied, “Yes, please answer her questions."
Maria yawned and casually said, “Fine. In answer to your first question, why the band isn't good...
Maria adjusted her seating position and crooked her fingers.
Darren immediately understood what Maria meant and he opened a bottle of water for her to drink, just as he had done for her numerous times before.
Darren did this so naturally that the people present pulled a surprised expression when they saw it.
Maria took a sip before continuing, “The conductor and the art director played the score ‘Advanced Pawn' in too imposing a way.”
