Chapter: 1105
Lydia was offended by this remark.

She was most upset because she was listed as the art director on the cover of the program list.

Lydia flashed a sycophantic smile.

“You may not know anything about music but have you seen the movie ‘Advanced Pawn'? It's a movie about an ancient war. What's wrong with the imposing tone of the tune?”

“Because the song is called ‘Advanced Pawn'," Maria said, completely unfazed.

She continued, "The pawns can only move forward. They cannot retreat under any circumstances.

They must obey the military orders lest they be killed. If they survive and win, they get no glory. The merit of the battle is attributed to the general and the emperor. If they fail, they sacrifice their Lives and no one will know their names.

That's the true meaning of the role," Maria concluded.

The director and Lydia both wore incredulous expressions on their face. They realized that Maria had a point.

The advanced pawns were a symbol of magnificence and bravery.

But they were also human. They had stories, grievances, sadness and anger.

If the song was simply played in a magnificent manner, it would be Like telling these soldiers, “Hey, we know you're great for doing this. Now hurry up and go to your deaths!"

The director fell silent as he thought this over.

Everyone else was silent too.

Even Vivian was sullen.

Lydia did not betray her emotions. She asked, "And the second question? Is there anything wrong with the composition?"

This question had actually already been answered.

If the style of the performance was wrong, how could the composition be appropriate?

Maria thought it was a stupid question that didn't deserve an answer. For the sake of the salary she would be receiving, Maria answered nonetheless. "Like I said, it's just gilding the Lily in my opinion!"

“How... How dare you!" Lydia's facade came crumbling down as she revealed how annoyed she was.

Then she noticed the cameramen were still filming so she composed herself.

The director gave a long sigh.

He knew that Maria was right about this one.

Mia's work was perfect.
