Chapter: 1228
Doris hated the fact that Maria wasn't acting like the others.

Doris always enjoyed it when the members of the Jenkins begged her and tried to suck up to her at these times. She felt Like she was on top of the world.

It wasn't everyday that she got to act as a boss and be treated as a boss whereas she was actually just a servant. Doris didn't think she would ever tire of it.

Honestly, it brought her more joy than the money she actually made from serving them.

“Go on," Doris said coldly. After being the matriarch's personal maid for long, Doris knew some secrets.

One of them, being that Maria had the ancient martial talent since she was from the exiled branch of the Jenkins family.

Since she knew it was inevitable for the Oracle Stone to light up when Maria touched it, Doris only hoped that the Light would be very dim.

Surely, Maria wouldn't be this proud once she saw that she was the lowest of the group, and that everyone would enjoy the family resources more than her. At least, that was what Doris hoped would happen.

Slowly, Maria placed her hand on the Oracle Stone. Everyone watched attentively. It was almost as if they were holding their breath.

Unlike with the first three people that touched the stone, as soon as Maria touched the Oracle Stone, it burst into a dazzling and almost blinding light.

The Oracle Stone which was only pure black and transparent seconds ago, was now like a bright transparent crystal.

“Oh my God! It's so bright!" someone exclaimed with a gasp.

“Wow! What Level of talent is this? Could it be the highest level? Level nine?" echoed another person.

Vivian frowned.

No one needed to tell her that there was a giant gap between her talent and Maria's. The Oracle Stone had said enough.

Vivian was mortified. It was already humiliating that Maria beat her in the entertainment circle and the Writers' Association. But she could never accept this one! How was it that even in terms of martial arts Maria was still more powerful than her?

After Maria removed her hand from the giant stone, it returned to its dark shining colour.

Maria ignored all the murmuring around and looked at Doris indifferently. "Where should I stand?"

"Why don't you stand on my head?" Doris almost said out Loud. Honestly, she was a little flustered. In all her years of doing this, she had never seen the Oracle stone shine so brightly.

She couldn't tell Maria's exact level, but she was certain that Maria was absolutely extraordinary and that her ancient martial arts talent was probably higher than everyone else's.

At some point, Doris even thought of maybe flattering Maria to curry favour with her.

But on second thought, she knew it would be useless.

Maria might be very powerful and have a grand standing in the family after this, but that was all. She, Doris, had the leader of the Jenkins family behind her.

Doris could already tell that the matriarch wouldn't like Maria. As soon as they got back, she would mount the matriarch against Maria, so the proud little bitch would not grow.
