Chapter: 1538
"This is..." Before Jack could begin his introduction, Barbara had already moved past him and entered the room.
"It's nearly lunchtime. How about we share a meal..."
Before Barbara could complete her sentence, she fell silent.
To her surprise, this room didn't match her expectations of a lavish office. Instead, it exuded a sense of simplicity and refinement.
The office contained a standard desk and chair, with a well-equipped computer resting on the desk.
Judy's fingers tapped away on the keyboard as she glanced up at Barbara, who had just entered the office.
"Are you inviting me to lunch? Sorry, I'm afraid I'm not available."
Barbara's complexion blushed with embarrassment upon hearing this.
She had intended to offer Anthony the chance to dine with her.
But that cursed Jack led her to Judy's office!
What was going on with Jack? Had he lost his senses?
"Iam not inviting you for lunch!" Barbara exclaimed, her teeth clenched.
Judy gazed at her, then took a brief look around, before fixing her gaze on Barbara once again.
The look on Judy's face seemed to ask, “Considering we're the only two here, are you asking a phantom to lunch?"
Flustered, Barbara swiveled around and directed her ire at Jack.
“I thought you were giving me a tour of the CEO's office. Is this supposed to be the chief executive's room for the Sky Group? What's happening?"
“No, Miss Herrera," Jack replied, shaking his head.
Barbara questioned with a long face, “Then why did you bring me here?"
“We're en route," Jack assured her.
Barbara responded, annoyance clear in her voice, “Would you kindly lead me to Anthony's office, then?"
She silently vowed to let Jack know exactly how she felt if he hesitated.
But Jack remained unflappable, replying with a casual grin,
“Certainly, Miss Herrera. Not an issue."
By his tone, it almost sounded like he wondered why she hadn't made her wishes clear sooner.
