Chapter: 1595
Yet, Maria didn't cast a single glance at Marilyn's way, nor did she accept the pathological report Marilyn offered.
Maria only briefly halted as she walked past Anthony.
“I will first check on Michael."
“Okay," said Anthony.
Their exchange, while concise, conveyed a distinctive understanding between them.
They silently exchanged more information, such as the issue involving Marilyn. And the timing of Michael's sickness.
“What? Why did you permit her entry so casually?" Raymond expressed frustration.
"Dr. Rivera generously handed her the documents for review, and she didn't extend a thank you or even glance at them?"
Anthony simply smiled, offering no response.
Marilyn persisted in a self-reproachful tone, "It's my mistake. I should never have given her a pathology report in a foreign language.
If this report delays that young lady in treating Mr. Michael Wilson's ailment, it's entirely my fault."
"Her? What can she possibly achieve? Humph!"
Raymond expressed a mixture of annoyance and amusement.
"Dr. Rivera, even you can't instantly awaken my father. How could Maria, an actress from the entertainment industry, possess the ability to cure him?"
“Ah, so she's Maria.” Marilyn finally nodded as though she had just grasped Maria's identity.
But then she shook her head.
"She's an author and an actress. Did she also pursue a medical education? The world is indeed full of surprises."
Raymond, upon hearing this sarcasm, emitted a cold chuckle.
“There are no such people in the world! She's simply putting on an act!"
Marilyn grew perplexed as she realized she had failed to capture Anthony's attention despite her efforts.
She silently pondered, “Was Anthony genuinely concerned about Michael's well-being?"
“Dr. Rivera."
“Yes, Mr. Wilson?"
Marilyn perked up when Anthony initiated a conversation with her.
