Chapter: 1612
He mused that any family would surely have its peace disturbed by a young woman like Marilyn who already seemed so troublesome.
Michael was already thinking about how he could help Maria dodge this bullet.
Then, Maria remarked, “Observation? Lending me a hand? I don't see it's necessary."
"Oh?" Marilyn raised an eyebrow, thinking Maria lacked the confidence to let them observe the checkup because of the lack of medical knowledge.
"Why not let us watch? Are there some secret techniques you can't share with us? If that's the case, I apologize for my rude request."
Her words sounded somewhat irony.
If Maria really possessed the capabilities, Marilyn would let her go.
Yet, if Maria couldn't validate her competence, Marilyn would seize the opportunity to embarrass Maria.
However, Maria's response caught Marilyn off guard.
"It'll be a waste of time if you're there to see me run the checkup for Michael. You couldn't grasp my unique method for checkup."
“What! Are you kidding me?" Jaxon, hearing the exchange, couldn't help but laugh out loud.
He might not be a titan in the medical field, but he was an expert in his right.
He felt confident there wasn't much in medicine he couldn't comprehend.
Jaxon interjected, “Young lady, don't get ahead of yourself. I'm here for Michael's well-being. If your medical treatment causes harm to Michael, I'll be ready to step in with a solution."
After Jaxon finished speaking, Marilyn flashed a smile and echoed, "Miss Jenkins, my father isn't just a retired hospital director. He's the honorary chairman and executive director of various medical associations, and he even serves as a guest professor and consultant at several medical schools..."
“Enough,” Maria cut Marilyn off with a wave of her hand, clearly impatient.
This, of course, annoyed Jaxon and Marilyn.
Typically, when Marilyn listed Jaxon's credentials, it garnered immediate respect.
A man with so many accolades was surely a notable figure in society!
But why didn't Maria seem impressed?
"Quite the resume," Michael interjected with a chuckle.
"If no one put a stop to it, we might be here until tomorrow."
Even Raymond couldn't suppress a laugh at that.
To the Wilson family, the social elite held little weight.
