Chapter: 263
It was already night time. In the Hillside Spa Hotel, the surroundings were peaceful. Other than the occasional chirping of insects, it was completely silent.
Maria took three pills from the medicine bottle as prescribed by Jessica and then put it away carefully.
She turned around to find that Anthony was still lying on the sofa, as if he was in too bad a condition to get up.
It was nine o'clock at night. From the Hillside Spa Hotel, the downtown of Sheffield was more than an hour's drive away. What was more, driving along the mountain road at night could be dangerous. Maria would have to be heartless to ask Anthony to leave at this time.
At the same time, she could not ask him to go to a different villa, either. Once news of Anthony's visit to Villa No. 1 spread, it would be hard to explain why he was not sleeping in the same villa as his fiancee.
“Let me help you to bed," Maria said reluctantly.
“Okay..." Anthony nodded tiredly, as if he was still in pain from the wound.
“Thank you for staying to take care of me tonight. I'm really sorry.”
Hearing this, Maria almost scoffed out Loud. When had she said that she would stay and take care of him the whole night?
But in fact, it was true that patients with a head injury needed to be monitored until their condition was okay.
Thinking of that, Maria decided to stay up late. She helped Anthony Lie down on the bed, and then sat on a chair next to him.
“You are sick too. You shouldn't stay up late," Anthony said in an overbearing tone, suddenly reaching out to hold Maria's hand.
Maria was confused. What did he mean by that? Looking into her eyes, Anthony continued, “Let's sleep together."
In the end, the two slept together.
Before Maria could refuse, her narcolepsy suddenly attacked, and she fell unconscious into Anthony's arms.
Enduring the throbbing pain on his forehead, Anthony carried her to the bed and gently laid her beside him.
Of course, nothing else happened the whole night, except for them literally sleeping together on the bed.
But when Maria woke up, she realized that she had been clinging onto Anthony's body tightly.
Obviously, Anthony had woken up some time ago. But in order not to disturb Maria's sleep, he just lay still, waiting for Maria to finally wake up.
Anthony then said with a meaningful smile, “Good morning."
