Chapter: 557
Was it possible?

Her unimportant order of three hundred thousand dollars had somehow attracted a top hacker of Heaven?

Recently, all the members of the Smith family had noticed something pretty strange in the home.

Mathias and his daughter, Julie, who ran away from home twenty years ago, had patched up their differences and the tension between them had subsided. However, Mathias did not bend over backwards to please Julie. He did, however, appear to care very much about his granddaughter, Maria.

Almost every day, the old man would eagerly inquire whether his granddaughter would come by to pay him a visit. He did this with great expectation.

It was understandable that grandparents adored their grandchildren. But Mathias's affection seemed to run too deep. He seemed to miss Maria like the desert misses the rain.

The whole Smith family was somehow curious about this misplaced affection. Did Mathias cherish Maria as much as he did Vivian? Or even more?

In their opinions, there were distinct differences between the two girls. Maria was not easy to get along with because she portrayed a cold and aloof demeanor.

Paradoxically, Vivian was the warm, likable one. She reached out to every member of the Smith family with great enthusiasm. Therefore, she had left a very good impression on them with her caring attitude and desire to get them involved in her life.

“Hello, Grandpa! Guess who is here to visit you?" Vivian was unusually early in her visit to the Smith family home. She came armed with a special gift for Mathias which she held carefully in her hand.

Special care had to be taken when presenting a gift to someone in high places, especially someone like Mathias. She had to think it over thoroughly before giving him a proper gift. After all, he practically lacked nothing.

He was so wealthy that he had everything that money could buy. Even if there was something he needed, without doubt, Vivian would not be able to afford it. She did not have so much of money.

Therefore, her gift had to be unique and distinctive, which would not only please Mathias, but would also always reminded him of her. That gift had to encapsulate and immortalize just how amazing she was.

The gift chosen by Vivian was the first volume of Song of Phoenix, which was still being serialized. It was special because it contained her personal touch.

Although she had never bothered to find out if Mathias enjoyed reading or not, she was sure that the Literary work of his granddaughter must be the most special gift he would ever receive in his life!

It would show what outstanding talent she had! It would depict her as a successful writer with great potential.

Everyone could see that, compared with his other granddaughter, Maria, there was a huge gap between the two that could not be bridged. Vivian was a star, bright and cheerful. Maria was not.

“Grandpa! "

Vivian breezed into the living room. She found Mathias relaxing in an armchair.

The old man nodded in greeting with a smile on his face. He seemed to be quite happy.
